As we have mentioned before, one of our favorite things to do together is drive around, photographing each other. It helps us refine our photography, and we get to practice being in front of the camera!
This is the third and final portrait session from my whirlwind Salt Lake City weekend! I've known the Call family for years, and I hadn't seen them since I moved from California in 2005. It was nice to catch up with them and shoot some family portraits. They are all so grown up now! I used to babysit Justin, the oldest, when he was 2, and he is turning into a handsome young man. Karalynne and Jeff are currently expecting their fifth child, and I couldn't be happier for them!
While I was in Utah, I was able to shoot portraits of the very handsome DuPaix boys. I had so much fun with them as they played in the forest. There is something so wonderful about watching boys be themselves. They are full of life, imagination and energy. It is times like this when I just try to stay out of the way and capture the magic moments that they create!
I recently made my way to the Salt Lake Valley for this special engagement session. Sterling is my elder cousin by 8 days. When I found out he was engaged I was thrilled! I was even more excited when they decided to hire me to document their wedding. We had so much fun together, and I just adore Kalina! I am looking forward to her joining the family. She can definitely hold her own! We're a sassy group of gals, and she fits right in. Congratulations to Sterling and Kalina! We can't wait for your wedding in March. We love you!
Jaquilyn and I really believe in being local tourists. It's easy to travel to distant lands to be tourists -- but to be tourists in your own area is a lot cheaper and can be just as rewarding. Here are a few photographs we shot on a recent ferry ride up to Seattle! By the way, if you're not in the Seattle/Tacoma area, come visit. You'll love it!
A couple of weeks ago, my best friend Stephanie & Noah flew up to Washington to stay with us for the weekend. This was a special trip for many reasons. This was the first time Stephanie and I saw each other since Travis and I were married in 2007. I met her son, Noah for the first time and fell completely in love with him! It also happened to be the weekend before OUR birthday. Yes, my very best friend & I share the same birthday! Steph is so special to me because we always pick up right where we left off. Although time and distance has kept us apart, somehow, when we are together it's as if no time was lost. I miss her already. After months of planning, our special "birthday weekend" just flew by. I am glad we had the opportunity to capture a few frames of Stephanie & Noah. I love them with all my heart!
